Like a cv carb to manifold rubber seal thing.( 1991 FXSTS ) also an emulsion tube, and  main jet to fit 1992 and newer CV carb. I can&#039;t find a float for my 1991 carb, so I bought a $100 Chinese knock off.  The emulsion tube has only 2 holes instead of 16 like my old tube.      I have a &#039;02 FXDX which I just installed a Thunderheader 2 into 1 exhaust onto as well as a Roland Sands Clarity filter which uses an exposed K&amp;N filter. I purchased one of the premium kits and installed all the parts. (Spring, EZ screw, idle screw, etc). I used the 48 and 195 jets and have tuned the carb correctly I believe. Are these the rights jets to use for this setup? The EZ screw is sitting a little past 3 turns out if I remember right. I got to the point where the carb...<br />

Currently have a 2001 fxst. Started life with a cv40 and basically stock.  It now is a 97&quot; with S&amp;S 585 cams 10.75:1 comp and the heads were matched at 82cc combustion chambers.  It runs good with its HSR42 that is currently on it and dynos at 103 ftlbs and 88 hp with a sae smoothing of 5 however i think there is more on the table because it goes hella fat at 3k (10:1) and at 1800(11:1) but other wise hangs out around 12.5-13.5. I have a 04 Sportster with a main jet that is different to other CV 40 jets. Left is a jet from CV Perf (fits in my 05 Sportster) and on the right is a jet from a 04 Sportster that has a smaller thread. Both carbs are HD but not 100% equal. <br />

I am installing a CV carb,with a Press on type flange, on my 1340 shovelhead. And would like some advise <br />
1. At the moment it is mounted to a S&amp;S manifold, Will the difference in diameter between  cv carb and manifold be a problem ( disturbe the flow ) should i get a OEM style bendix / keihin type manifold where the diameter matches the cv carb better. <br />
2. Do you recommend using a heat insulator between the carb and manifold<br />

Otherwise the only other issue is every once in a while if I blip the throttle to take of from a stop it pops through the carb and dies.  My only thought was it may be running lean so move up to a 45 pilot, but then I thought about the slide as when I installed the tuner kit the slide was drilled out to more than 1/8&quot;.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[Im in the process of rebuilding a carb for a 99 Dyna Wide Glide. The bike sat for 5 years in a shed and the carb was in bad shape. Ive cleaned it good, let it soak in carb cleaner for 8 hours and tried carb cleaner in the can and compressed air. I cannot get air to come out through the accelerator jet. I did get some black liquid to come out of it one time but that was it. Im thinking at this point i just need to remove it and clean it. Whats the best way to do this without tearing up the jet...<br />

I had a guy work on the carb for me because it ran bad.  He said no one had adjusted it so he jetted it and opened up the a/c.  Ran great for years.
