Since I did the 95" Minton/Mouse to the King,I've not had a chance to compare the performance to anything but my buddies VRod muscle
I'd get him off the line, but then he'd blow by me like I was standing still...
Yesterday we went for a ride around the Cabot Trail(Beautiful scenery BTW),my buddy with the VRod and a friend of his with a '10 Street Glide with the SE 103 kit and Super Tuner and myself with the 95" CBFH...
After the second stop the guy came up to me and asked what I did to my bike because he could not keep up with me...he said he rides with a guy with a Stage 1 Ultra and can pull away from him with ease and when we hit the throttle I was pulling away from him every time

That made me feel pretty good, because I didn't think I was getting the...

Thought I'd start a new thread on this coughing business. Mine has been doing it for a while now, and always when I take off or blip the throttle at idle. It's like it's starved for fuel. This doesn't happen all the time, maybe once or twice during the course of a riding day. Yesterday I opened the air mixture screw several times and it still persisted. So I'm going back to 1 1/2 turns out. Carb has been cleaned. I have a 46 pilot and will try a 48 pilot next as soon as Tattoo can get one. All his jets are on back order.
The Beast runs fine otherwise.
I do have a used 50 pilot that was in my old Keihin butterfly carb. I'm thinking of trying it because some of the boys on the shovelhead forum recommend it with the CV carb. What do youse think?

What a really great ride today. Been wanting to do this ride for a long time. We rode down I-5 down to Albany then to the town of Sweet home and then across Foster Dam up Quartz Creek Rd and to Green Peter Dam. Sometimes the color of the water at Green Peter would be like the green color of a green ruby. We followed it up to a ridge that had some great views. Then down to the Santiam River and then into the city of Detroit. Then back into the Cascade MTN range riding up again to the Mt Jefferson Wilderness area and then down the Clackamas river to home. We rode somewheres about 260-270 miles today.
Any of you guys ever come here you will have some fantastic riding and a place to stay.

Started out in the morning with temps in the upper 40s - Brrr. Stopped at the courthouse to pay a $460 ticket and then continued on to Snow Hill to meet Badinfluence63.
Got there around noon, I guess, and we went out and had lunch and talked motorcycles, etc. Had a fine time. Got to meet his wife, who took pictures of us and gave me a tasty quick bread to take home. Rode about 120 miles total.
On the way there, I developed trouble kick starting the bike. I thought it was a broken tooth in the kicker mechanism, but it turned out to be that the clutch adjusting screw was too tight. I stopped along the road and backed it out some and the shifting and the kicker worked like a charm. Thought I was gonna have to put in a new throwout bearing or new gear, but it seems to be okay....
