The manual for 83 FXE says to install the bolt thru the swingarm, attach a scale to it and pre-load the bearings to 1-2 lbs.
What does that mean??
I've never installed a swingarm before.

I start my new job in the morning at Front Range Cycles in Fort Collins. It was a sudden thing. Since I've been in the club, I've been trying really hard to find weekday work so I don't miss all the weekend events. It's a small shop, but it's doing well. I'll run the front end, everything with the customers so the owner can work on bikes and take a day or two off.

A friend has an 07 Ultra that has been lowered front and rear. He wants to return it to stock suspension. I have an 09 Ultra with stock suspension and want to lower mine. My question is: Can we simply swap shocks and fork tube springs? Pretty sure the rear shocks are interchangeable but not sure about the fork springs.

I went for a ride today about 30 miles with a couple stops. Got back and saw my neighbor on his porch so I stopped, turned off the bike(using the key) and talked for about 5 minutes. I then turned the key back on and nothing. It was dead. Just put a new battery in it last year, so I don't think that is it but who knows. Any advice on where I should go from here? Thanks
