Hi, i'm new to bike-talk so please be patient. I recently purchased a 97 883 sportster. When riding it home 5 miles from where i got it the thing quit on me. I pulled the plugs and found it to have very weak spark so i bought NEW plugs and no change. Next i bought a NEW harley coil and NEW wires and still no change.
I was told it was probably an ignition module so back to the harley dealer i went and got a NEW one. Still no change have very weak spark.
At this point i have swagged a coil, plugs, wires, and ignition module at this thing. I'm at my wits end.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

Well, I have probably put about 1k on my bike since I have gotten it. I remember saying that I was going to rip the engine apart and do this and do that. After putting some miles on it a lot of them now with the OL Lady on the back. I do have to admit that the 88 with the cams that I have in now just don't cut the mustard. I realize that I am making this determination when I am doing a lot of riding when it cooler out. Average temps that I have been riding are about 40-55*, But I do think that I need some more passing power, there just isn't enough grunt in that engine. It may be better when it warms up to about 100* but I am not expecting too much more out of it.
Today I went out riding and when I started out riding it was under 50* It is a little warmer now, but nasty overcast. Not...

I keep beating up this 2 into 1 pipe thing
. Super trap. R and B Racing, Pro pipe. Ect... Please correct me if (because) I'm wrong, I've been looking into R And B racing (the Spyder). It's a 2" pipe sounds great and is supposed to be a great pipe, I have a highly modified 113. Which pipe would help with the dreaded pre-ignition ping and all around ride, including rub. Would a 2" pipe be to much exhaust with not enough back pressure? Or would a 1 3/4 pipe be better for my ride. Super trap is coming out with a 2" pipe soon (May) and are very proud of it. They (Super Trap) quoted $1,700 to $1,800 for it. Any suggestions?
Thank You.
