I replaced the push rods and adjusted them perfectly. I am still getting an inconsistant misfire. Its running a little off.

I am thinking the S&S carb might have to be rebuilt or the timing is off. It doesnt seem to get a good stream of fuel or the timing is off. I tried adjusting the timing by siund. I am picking up a timing light tomorrow.

Any insight into setting the timing on the bike. The manual is very vauge. I think I am buying the Clamers version. The HD shop manual does tno have enough photos of what I am supposed to be looking at.

Also any insight into tuning the carb?

i have a harley fxdwg 2004,1450 cc
i bought a tachometer, there are 3 wires,1 yellow,1 red,1 black
the red and the black are connected ok
but the yellow one should be connected on the pink wire tucked inside the conduit at the speedometer connector but the probleme
is there is no pink wire there on my bike
would anyone know where i could connect this wire
in order for my tach to work?
i tryed on one of the coils but it s not working
the tach comes from harley davidson

hi all
i found on getting my sportster out,i had no front brake,i had instaled braided
hoses about six months ago and until now they have been ok.
i found that where the hose fits into the joint that tightens to the banjo
it is bleeding out.my question is would it be safe to tighten it up a snick
or would i crush the joint making it worse? the hose is new but of the older
type ie:without the plastic coating.

I have a 2005 road king and I heard you can cut 6 inches out of the crossover pipe and drive frost plugs into the pipes where the pipe was that you cut out then just put your heat shield back on and no one even knows that you did this, and supposedly sounds very good too, have any of you guys done this? How does it sound? How is the heat on the left side for the passenger, any different? I figured before I went ahead and did this I should at least hear from someone that has done this because once I cut it out it will be alot harder to put it back in. Thanks, Todd

if not going to be riding for awhile and have leather bags. don't let em be empty. pack em full. also watch overtightening the straps this i believe can contribute towards collasping
