I bought an old ninja 600 as a project just a little while ago and today I was replacing the rear shock absorber and i noticed that the oil level "sight glass" looked really strange. last time I remember looking at it about 40-50 miles ago, it looked normal, a nice clear image of dark oil about half way up the glass and visible background components above that. today however, it looked like the attached image.
what in the world happened? (I mean aside from the fact that it now looks like the face of DEATH or something) the guy I bought it from said that the oil had been recently changed. but this is a drastic difference with a very few amount of miles on it, the bike does not seem to be running any different either.
is coolant suddenly leaking into the oil or something?

Hi folks. Been having to do other things for a spell. Been in and out of the hospital a couple of times due to the chemo reacting. Had to stop one of the chemo agents because it about killed me - literally. My B/P got down to 67/46. Renal shutdown occurs when the B/P drops to 80 so I was thinking - okay my kidneys have shutdown so I reckon my liver is next. Anyhow I went in the hospital, got two units of blood which makes a total of about 10 units over the course. I also got about 6 liters of fluid plus electrolytes. Death usually occurs when you dehydrate 15% of your body weight and I dehydrated 19.4% so God was really holding me in his hands and arms cause I was flat in bed. Anyhow I recovered from that enough to straddle the Harley to Rolling Thunder in DC. Even better news...

Hi Guys
Check this out..
The begging of the season I changed my oil with rioyal purple and decided to try a K&N 171C instead of the Harley filter.
1000 miles in (1 week ago)I noticed my oil light would stay on for about 7-10 seconds after initial start up, After stressing about the check valve in the camplate or a possible oil pump problem I noticed that after the initial start up the light would go off after 1 2 seconds after that. So I started thinking ..hmmm
seems like the filter is draining down. So today i went to the Harley dealer and bought a new Harley filter and some royal purple at the local parts store,
Low and behold the oil light now goes out in about a half of a second.
Just letting you all know about this, anyone else have the same experience?
Never again...
